The Q-Box RP2LP- High Range Respiration System is used to study metabolic rates via CO2 and O2 exchange in small animals with higher metabolic rates such as rats and mice. When combined with our Gas switching system measurements of respiration rates (VO2, VCO2) and RQ are automated for up to 7 animals (8 channel system including reference).
Description:
The System provides you with all of the materials required to measure the respiration of small animals using an open-flow gas exchange system. The levels of CO2 and O2 in the gas that is supplied to the animal chamber is determined using the infrared CO2 gas analyzer and the O2 Analyzer. This gas is pumped at a known flow rate through the chamber containing the animal. The levels of CO2 and O2 leaving the chamber are determined. The software provides calculations of respiration rate as VCO2 and VO2. For Multichannel measurements of respiration (up to 7 samples plus reference) consider adding the Gas switching system to the Respiration Package.
